What is CBD?
Thousands of people around the world are choosing to incorporate CBD into their daily life, help manage increasingly common problems such as anxiety, stress and pain. But, before we get into how CBD can have positive effects on many aspects of our life’s, let's first take a look at what CBD actually is.
CBD is short for “Cannabidiol” it is a cannabinoid (aka, a chemical compound that occurs naturally in Cannabis and hemp plants) that can be extracted from the plant’s flower and leaves. CBD works in the body by acting as a support to your endocannabinoid system (ESC).
I know there’s a lot of info here, but stay with us, it will all make sense! The ECS is an incredible network of tiny receptors found throughout the body. This network plays a crucial role in regulating the body’s optimal balance and its most important functions, including our immune system, sleep patterns, all our senses, stress, anxiety, pain, appetite, inflammation and more.
Your body naturally produces endocannabinoids but, sometimes it needs additional support. Especially in times of physical and mental stress.
So, simply put the way CBD works is by preventing the naturally occurring endocannabinoids from being broken down by the body, therefore allowing the body to make full use of what it’s already naturally producing.
